Review the rider, income choice and access together
Allianz 360 is a fixed index annuity with a 360 Benefit rider included for an additional charge. Its interest bonus and lifetime withdrawal options address different questions: how the contract may accumulate value, and how it may provide retirement income. An attractive bonus description alone does not establish whether the contract fits your cash needs.
This is an independent educational review from First Freedom Life. We are not Allianz's policyholder service department. For account servicing, use the issuing company's official channels. For a comparison, start with the exact contract, state, rider and proposed income date.
Interest bonus does not mean a premium bonus
The Allianz 360 product overview describes an interest bonus tied to interest credited to the contract. It is not a matching contribution on your deposit or a guaranteed annual return. The rider charge is a separate consideration, and the bonus ends under the applicable rider termination, surrender or income provisions.
Ask for a comparison that shows interest credited, the bonus and rider charges separately. Read guaranteed values alongside hypothetical results. A percentage used to calculate lifetime withdrawals is also different from an investment return or an amount you can withdraw as cash.
| Feature | Question for your review |
|---|---|
| Interest bonus | What interest qualifies, and when does the bonus stop? |
| Rider charge | What is deducted, and how could the charge change? |
| Income election | What starting payment and future increase rules apply? |
| Cash access | What would a withdrawal or surrender leave available? |

Compare level and increasing income
The Allianz 360 consumer brochure, revised August 2026 distinguishes level lifetime withdrawals from an increasing option with a smaller initial payment and potential later increases. Those increases depend on the contract's crediting rules; they are not an unconditional annual raise.
Compare both elections for the same income date and single-life or joint-life circumstances. Then consider which bills require a dependable starting amount and how much other income is available. A larger hypothetical future payment does not solve a shortfall in the first years of retirement.
The rider's ongoing cost deserves attention even in a period with no indexed interest. Ask how charges affect accumulation value and what remains if you later cancel. Allianz describes cancellation after the fifth contract year, loss of future rider bonuses and lifetime withdrawals, and no reinstatement. Annuitization remains a separate option. Review the applicable contract before treating cancellation as a temporary pause.
What Index Lock can and cannot do
The carrier's Index Lock explanation describes locking a positive index value on eligible allocation options during a crediting period. The locked value and applicable crediting method determine the interest calculation. Crediting timing differs between annual and multi-year methods.
A lock can produce more or less interest than leaving the allocation unlocked. It does not promise the market's high point, the best future result or the value visible when a request is submitted. Ask which options are eligible and when a requested lock takes effect. Index participation through an annuity is not ownership of the underlying stocks and does not pay their dividends.
Keep access needs outside the sales illustration
The brochure describes a ten-year surrender-charge period and a market value adjustment for applicable withdrawals or surrender. Permitted withdrawals have conditions; larger withdrawals can reduce available cash and benefits. Protection from negative index performance does not eliminate charges or make every dollar immediately accessible.
Before considering a purchase or replacement, identify money needed for emergencies, near-term spending and existing contract obligations. Request current accumulation and surrender values for an existing annuity. Compare any benefits lost and charges restarted by replacement. If the money is in an old employer plan or IRA, review the account decision separately from the product decision.
Bring your actual questions
- When do you need income, and for whose lifetime?
- What amount must remain accessible?
- What are the guaranteed values after applicable charges?
- What changes under each income or beneficiary election?
- What would you give up by replacing your existing contract?
You can ask about an illustration or existing contract without committing to a transfer. For the broader company overview, see our Allianz annuity information. Availability depends on the state, product version and distribution arrangement; Allianz states that this product content does not apply in New York. This page does not establish that First Freedom Life offers every version.
Guarantees depend on the issuing insurer's claims-paying ability. Annuities are not FDIC-insured. An annuity inside an IRA does not add further tax deferral. This is education, not personal tax, legal or securities advice.
Discuss Your Annuity Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is the Allianz 360 interest bonus a premium bonus?
No. The interest bonus is tied to interest credited under the contract. It is not a matching contribution on your deposit or a promised annual return. Compare the separate rider charge.
Does increasing income guarantee a larger payment every year?
The increasing option starts with a smaller payment and offers potential increases under the crediting rules. Review the exact contract rather than assuming an unconditional annual raise.
Does Index Lock guarantee the highest possible interest credit?
No. Using a lock can produce more or less interest than leaving the allocation unlocked. Eligible options, request timing and the crediting method matter.
Must I move my IRA to ask about Allianz 360?
No. Begin with your questions, timing and existing account or contract. An inquiry does not require a transfer or purchase.
