Which Mutual of Omaha IUL are you researching?

Mutual of Omaha IUL searches can refer to different policies. Before comparing an illustration or asking for a quote, identify the exact product name. IUL Express, Life Protection Advantage and Income Advantage do not answer the same question for every household. Start with the death benefit your family needs, the premium you can maintain and how much uncertainty you can accept in future policy values.

This guide separates the named products and the questions to ask before applying. First Freedom Life is an independent insurance agency; this is an educational explanation, not the carrier’s website or an offer of guaranteed coverage.

IUL Express, Life Protection Advantage and Income Advantage

ProductStarting point for comparisonQuestion to resolve
IUL ExpressA simplified-underwriting indexed universal life option. How long does its conditional no-lapse protection last, and what funding is needed afterward?
Life Protection AdvantageThe carrier presents this as permanent protection with cash-value potential.Which premium and policy requirements support the protection period in your illustration?
Income AdvantageThe carrier describes a greater emphasis on cash growth potential than Life Protection Advantage. How do projected values change under lower crediting assumptions and ongoing charges?

The carrier’s universal life overview describes these different emphases. A growth emphasis is not a promise of better returns. The state-approved policy, available options and your personal illustration govern the actual comparison.

Ask About Mutual of Omaha IUL

Look beyond a no-medical-exam headline

IUL Express uses simplified underwriting. You still answer health questions, and the insurer reviews eligibility. An application can be declined. A simpler application does not mean that every health condition qualifies or that a policy will be issued immediately.

Tell the person helping you about the coverage you already have, prescriptions, relevant medical history and your budget. Ask which application path fits those facts. If another product is considered, confirm its own underwriting requirements rather than assuming the Express process applies across the carrier’s entire IUL range.

What the IUL Express no-lapse period means

The April 2026 IUL Express highlights describe conditional no-lapse protection for 20 years or until age 80, whichever comes first, when the required no-lapse premium is maintained. That is different from an unconditional lifetime guarantee.

After that period, continuation depends on the policy’s values and charges. Ask to see the premium intended to support your coverage goal, the contractual guarantee requirements and what happens if you reduce or miss payments. Flexible premiums give choices; they do not remove the need to fund the policy.

A zero index floor does not eliminate policy costs

Indexed crediting connects an interest calculation to an index; you do not directly own the index through the policy. Caps, participation rates and other terms affect the credit. A zero-percent floor on the indexed interest calculation does not prevent policy values from falling after insurance and other charges.

For a useful illustration discussion, request the guaranteed values alongside non-guaranteed projections. Compare a lower-crediting scenario, a missed-payment scenario and the same funding without planned withdrawals. Ask which assumptions can change and when additional premiums might become necessary. Avoid choosing from the largest projected retirement-income number alone.

Cash access and living benefits require separate questions

The IUL Express client brochure explains policy loans, withdrawals and conditional accelerated death benefits. Loans accrue interest, and loans or withdrawals reduce policy values and benefits. Favorable tax treatment is conditional; a modified endowment contract, surrender or lapse with an outstanding loan can change the result. Review your circumstances with a tax professional before relying on projected tax-free access.

Living benefits also require a qualifying condition and the rider’s terms. They are not unrestricted access to the entire death benefit or a substitute for reading the claim requirements. Ask how an acceleration would affect the benefit left to your beneficiaries.

Bring the illustration, not just a product name

If you already have a quote or policy, bring its exact product name, issue state, issue year, annual premium and illustrated death benefit. Existing owners should also bring a recent statement and request an in-force illustration. Those documents help distinguish a new purchase question from a policy-funding problem.

These linked client materials include a July 2023 brochure and April 2026 highlights. Confirm current availability and the form offered in your state; the Express materials exclude New York. Do not cancel existing coverage while exploring a replacement.

Review My IUL Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does Mutual of Omaha IUL Express guarantee approval without a medical exam?

No. Simplified underwriting still includes health questions and insurer review. Eligibility and approval depend on the application and the product’s requirements.

Is IUL Express no-lapse protection guaranteed for life?

The April 2026 highlights describe conditional protection for 20 years or until age 80, whichever comes first, when required premiums are maintained. Continued coverage afterward depends on policy values and charges.

Can I lose policy value with a zero-percent index floor?

Yes. The floor applies to indexed interest crediting, not net policy value after insurance charges, other expenses, loans or withdrawals.

Which Mutual of Omaha IUL is best for cash value?

The carrier emphasizes cash growth potential more in Income Advantage than Life Protection Advantage. Suitability still depends on the exact policy, funding, charges and guarantees; a larger projection is not a guaranteed result.
